Story

For the majority of women and their families, pregnancy is the one of the happiest time of their lives. However, for some families their pregnancy journey does not have a happy ending.

In the UK, 1 in 4 pregnancies end in miscarriage and every day 17 babies are sadly stillborn or die shortly after birth.

At Watford General Hospital, we have a team of midwives who provide families with individualised support and specialist bereavement care when faced with the death of their baby/babies.

On the Labour Ward, the Rose Room is a dedicated space, away from the main ward where bereaved families can spend time with their baby following their birth, to make everlasting memories and prepare to say goodbye.

We are asking for donations to renovate the room in order to make this space more comforting and homely. Any funds left following the renovation will be used to ensure memory making equipment is avaliable for families and any extras that are needed for the room.

Together, we can make a difference for our families
