Story

For the majority of women and their families, pregnancy is the one of the happiest time of their lives. However, for some families their pregnancy journey does not have a happy ending.

In the UK, 1 in 4 pregnancies end in miscarriage and every day 17 babies are sadly stillborn or die shortly after birth.

At Watford General Hospital, we have a team of midwives who provide families with individualised support and specialist bereavement care when faced with the death of their baby/babies.

We have recently had a successful fundraising campaign to renovate the bereavement room and the room is almost completed.

We have now left this page open so that families who wish to give back to the service can do so.

We use this money to ensure there are supplies in the room to make it a more comfortable environment. We also use this fund to provide extra memory making opportunities for families- 3D casts, keyrings, books, yearly memorial service.

Together, we can make a difference for our families
