At the beginning of August 2023, I am embarking on an exciting and ambitious fundraising initiative in support of The Marlborough Difference Campaign for life changing bursaries.

The challenge will commence at Sennen Cove Beach in Cornwall. From there, I will embark on a sea kayak journey along the coastline, making my way to Land's End (50.07, 5.715222) before heading north towards the Bristol Channel.

Upon reaching the Bristol Channel, I will enter the River Avon at Avonmouth. From there, I will continue my journey through Bristol docks and onto Bath via the River Avon.

The coastal and river legs are estimated to cover approximately 355 to 400 kilometres. The kayak portion of the challenge will undoubtedly test my physical stamina and determination, as I navigate the unpredictable waters.

I will be running the remaining distance from Bath to Marlborough College. This final leg is projected to span around 50 to 65 kilometres (Ultra Marathon), adding an additional layer of physical exertion and mental fortitude to the challenge!

I am aware that this undertaking will require extensive preparation, training, and dedication. Nonetheless, I am inspired by the Marlborough Difference Campaign and the impact it will have on the lives of deserving students. I aim to complete this challenge within 2-3 weeks, ensuring that the funds raised make a meaningful contribution to allow deserving pupils to be educated at Marlborough in the future.

Free places (bursaries) at Marlborough transform the lives of motivated and talented young people by providing them with the opportunities, environment, and support to excel. A more inclusive and diverse Marlborough community in which bursary pupils are fully integrated will be transformative for the College and increase the positive impact we make. Every pupil will benefit from better preparation for their future careers, the experience of broader perspectives, and the inspiration to achieve more.
