After the sad loss of our baby early in 2023, my family benefited from the support offered by the charity, Sands. The stillbirth and neonatal death charity operates across the UK: supporting anyone affected by the death of a baby; working in partnership with health professionals to ensure that bereaved parents and families receive the best possible care; and promoting improvements in practice and funding research that could help to reduce the loss of babies’ lives.

As of writing this, we are expecting our rainbow baby boy to arrive over the coming weeks and at the time anybody reads this, we should be well into changing nappies and being covered in sick. What will also be in the washing load alongside soiled baby clothes will be my running gear in preparation for this gruelling 20 mile race. I have been leading up to this for nearly a year now and am excited to use this as a great opportunity to raise funds for a charity I have personally experienced through the kindness of others.

So go on, £1 a mile seems only fair :)
