Brighton Marathon 2024 · 7 April 2024 ·

We’re Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM), and we’re a suicide prevention charity. We host a helpline for people affected by suicide, as well as vital online resources for anyone who needs them.

Story

Hello everyone! We will be running the Brighton Marathon on 7th April and could use a bit of extra motivation to get over the line.

Runners and Riders:

Ed - military trained thorough bred - constantly ill but loves running up hills and stays on well - one to watch, could be a dark horse

Sam - marathon veteran - should be a banker, good form and knows how to grind out the furlongs, but has he got the staying power outside of London?

Fred - terrified newcomer - training in the countryside so goes well on heavy ground, rank outsider - he'll be hoping to get over the line so he never has to run again

We are officially open for betting!

But remember, when the fun stops... just keep running.

Calm is a brilliant charity, and one close to our hearts so if you can spare some loose change we'd be very grateful!

Some charity info bits below:

Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) is leading a movement against suicide. Every week 125 people in the UK take their own lives. And 75% of all UK suicides are male. CALM exists to change this by offering life saving services, provoking conversation and bringing people together to reject living miserably.

From advice on our site, through to free, confidential chats with our helpline staff, online or on the phone, we’re here for whoever needs us, every day. No matter what.

£8 is enough to fund one potentially life-saving call.
