Story
For over a year, my beautiful girlfriend had been struggling with a mystery illness, we were all unsure what was wrong but something definitely wasn’t right. In February 2024 she was admitted into intensive care, she stayed there for a week and we then found out that she was having an adrenal crisis. Finally, a diagnosis came & it was Addisons disease. Addisons affects around 100 people to every 1 million, so it’s a pretty rare & strange disease. Luckily she has been looked after but will have to take medication everyday for the rest of her life. She’s amazing & takes these challenges in her stride but I know there are days when things aren’t easy and that is okay.
Considering how rare Addisons is, my uncle also has it too, so it makes perfect sense to raise money to raise awareness & ensure the right support is in place for people with Addisons.
I will be running the Manchester marathon this year as a challenge, nowhere near as tough as the daily struggles of Addisons disease, but hopefully I can do my bit to raise some money.
Thank you for your donations.
