Story
Running for Dad 💙
On 4th April 2027, I will be taking on the London Landmarks Half Marathon in memory of my dad and in support of the Alzheimer’s Society.
My dad sadly passed away in July, and this challenge is my way of honouring his memory while helping to raise vital funds and awareness for everyone affected by dementia.
Dementia doesn’t just impact the person living with the condition; it affects entire families. Watching someone you love face the challenges of dementia can be incredibly difficult, which is why the work of Alzheimer’s Society is so important. Through support services, research, and campaigning, they help improve the lives of those living with dementia and the people who care for them.
My journey has already begun. I am currently training for the Cardiff Half Marathon, and once that race is complete, I will be moving straight into a new training plan focused on London. Every early morning, every mile, every long run, and every tough training session will be driven by the memory of my dad and the hope of making a difference for others.
This challenge is about much more than crossing a finish line. It’s about remembering my dad, celebrating his life, and helping create a future where fewer families have to experience the heartbreak of dementia.
Any donation, no matter the size, will make a real difference. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this page would mean just as much.
Thank you for your support, encouragement, and kindness throughout this journey. It truly means the world to me and my family.
Every step. Every donation. Every memory.
💙 In loving memory of Dad
