Welcome to our 2025 Royal Parks Half Marathon page!

Story

So being thirty-something and entering my running era, naturally I've decided to run a half marathon (a full marathon is just silly). Everyone is affected by cancer in some way sooner or later but particularly having lost my mum to sarcoma when I was five years old, I have chosen to run the Royal Parks Half in aid of the Institute of Cancer Research.

The ICR is one of the world's most influential cancer research institutes, with an outstanding record of achievement dating back more than 100 years. Its donors and supporters play a vital role in helping researchers at the ICR to make the discoveries that defeat cancer, with many modern cancer treatments having originated in discoveries made at the ICR.

If you know me at all then you'll also know how I feel about running and how it prevents participation in far more important and engaging activities, like sitting down or having a nice little doze, but realistically, if I leave it much longer, my penchant for Guinness and the structural integrity of my joints may not leave me much choice.

If you can spare a few quid for what I think we can all agree is a pretty worthwhile cause, it would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks,

Sam
