Our fundraiser for Netmakers Youth

Yorkshire Three Peaks · 12 July 2025
It might sound like the Yorkshire Three Peaks isn’t that great a challenge, but for me it’s huge.
A few years ago I was diagnosed with POTS, a chronic illness that causes all kinds of symptoms like "palpitations, dizziness, shortness of breath, shakiness, gut problems, tiredness or weakness, brain fog, headaches, exercise intolerance, poor sleep”
I can say I experience most of these – it’s not fun! And do you notice the bits about weakness and exercise intolerance??!
In addition, I've recently broken my foot, and have a dodgy back, so I was struggling to walk or sit over most of the summer & autumn.
Oh, and I also have asthma.
So, to be honest, at the point of writing this (December 2024) I’m not feeling all that confident about completing the challenge. But I want to try, I want to take you on this journey with me. I hope others will join me on the walk, perhaps do other sponsored events, and most of all I hope it inspires you to donate, so that we can bring hope and a future to young people in our local area.
What are we fundraising for?
We want there to more FREE safe spaces where teenagers can get together in person to hang out; old-fashioned youth clubs where young people can meet for conversation, table tennis, board games and free food. This helps them get off their phones, engage in real life community, grow friendships and have conversation with trusted adults.
If you want to help improve the lives of local young people, please donate now!
