Story
I’m running the Athens Marathon. My 9-year-old daughter Cali is running 6km around Strathclyde Park. We’re doing both for I Am Me Scotland.
On 8 November, I’ll take on what is considered one of the toughest marathon courses in the world, while Cali takes on her own challenge here in Scotland.
I’m incredibly proud to be a volunteer Board member of I Am Me Scotland — a small charity with a hugely important ambition: changing attitudes and behaviours towards disabled and vulnerable people.
Through education, I Am Me helps children and young people understand disability, harm and vulnerability. It also runs the Disability Friendly initiative, a national network across Scotland designed to help disabled and vulnerable people feel safe, valued and included in their communities.
I Am Me is a small charity, but its ambitions are big. That’s why every penny raised through this challenge can make a real difference to the people and communities it supports.
It’s a cause I genuinely believe in, and one I’m particularly proud to support with Cali.
If you can, please sponsor us. Every donation, however big or small, will help I Am Me continue this important work.
If you’d like to find out more about the charity and the work it does across Scotland, you can visit www.iammescotland.co.uk.
And if you can’t donate, sharing this post would be hugely appreciated.
Thank you. ❤️
