Story

About Sam…

For the last 15 years I have worked at Teesside Mind supporting children and young people across Teesside. During that time myself and my team have supported thousands of children and young people, we truly have made a difference to them and their families lives.

I currently manage a number of teams that support children and young people across Teesside, these being InsideOut MHST, Teesside Mind’s Getting Help Team and a number of staff that work into Footsteps Well-being Service.

I used to run when I was a teenager and always said I would do the GNR but never have. Last year I cheered my cousin on who was running for Teesside Mind, which has inspired me to get back into running. This will be a massive challenge for me, but I’m looking forward to it!

About Charlie…

For the last year I have been volunteering for Teesside Mind, helping at Soundwave Festival, Elf Runs and Colour Runs in schools. I have also done a weeks work experience shadowing the Fundraising Team, Comms and Marketing Team, Finance Team and HR.

I believe it’s quite common for young people to experience mental health difficulties or they know someone who is struggling. I seen the amazing work that Teesside Mind does in our community to support them!

I really want to do the GNR to push myself. Last year I went to support a family member and was really impressed with the atmosphere.

Teesside Mind…

We’re Teesside’s Leading Mental Health Charity and every year we help over 27,000 local people to manage their mental health and emotional wellbeing. We believe everyone has the right to enjoy good mental health and have access to the best possible care and services.

Each year, 1 in 4 of us will experience a mental health problem. We believe no one should have to face this alone. We'll listen, give you support and advice, fight your corner and never judge you. We won't give up until everyone experiencing a mental health problem in Teesside.
