Story
Many of you will know that movement and exercise has always been incredibly important to me, not just for the physical benefits, but for the mental ones too.
I am extremely lucky to be running the London Marathon 2026 in support of the Brandon Centre, a charity that provides vital mental health support to young people (under 25’s) going through tough times.
Exercise has always been my way of keeping a clear head. And the older I get, the more I realise how important it is — especially for men — to talk, to be honest with each other, and not to bottle things up.
The Brandon Centre offers a safe space for people to open up when they need it most, and that’s something I truly believe in.
If you’re able to contribute anything towards this brilliant cause, it would mean a lot to me, and to the many young men and women who rely on the support the Brandon Centre provides.
Thank you.
The harsh reality is:
Suicide is the leading cause of death for men under 50 in the UK.
75% of all suicides in England and Wales are male.
Only 36% of NHS talking therapy referrals are for men, despite their high risk.
1 in 10 men experience depression or anxiety, but less than half seek treatment.
Suicide is the main cause of death for young people under 35 in the UK — three-quarters of them are boys or young men.
