Story
This Sunday, Anna and I are taking on the RUN Hereford 10k in support of St Michael's Hospice.
If you know me, you’ll know this is far more Anna’s challenge than mine. Watching her go from a very occasional runner doing couch to 5k to training towards a full 10k has been genuinely inspiring. She’s pushed herself massively outside her comfort zone to do this, and I’m incredibly proud of her for sticking with it.
For us, this run is personal.
St Michael’s Hospice cared for my mum when she had a brain tumour and during the final stage of her life. The compassion, dignity and support they gave not only to her, but to all of us as a family, is something we will never forget.
Until you experience it yourself, it’s hard to fully appreciate just how important organisations like St Michael’s are. They provide incredible care during some of the hardest moments a family can face.
So this Sunday we’ll be running — or at least attempting to — to help raise money so they can continue supporting other local families when they need it most.
If you’re able to donate, no matter how small, we would both be hugely grateful. Every contribution genuinely makes a difference.
And if nothing else, your support might help get Anna through those final brutal kilometres.
Thank you.
