The Welsh 3000 · 27 June 2025

Far too many of us have felt the pain of losing someone we love. With your donations, we power groundbreaking cardiovascular research to save and improve lives, bring hope to families, and keep hearts beating across the UK.

Story

So, I've taken on a bit of a challenge and agreed to complete the Welsh 3000 at the end of June 2025. The Welsh 3000s is a series of 15 mountains in North Wales, each standing at over 3000ft (914 meters). I'll be trekking over 27 miles with an elevation gain of 10,000 feet, tackling some Grade 1 Scrambles along the way. I'm hoping to finish this adventure in just two days, all to support the British Heart Foundation (BHF).

This cause is incredibly personal to me. I lost my Grandad to a heart attack, and my wife had the devastating loss of losing her dad at a young age due to an undetected heart defect. Recently, a close friend also faced the heartbreaking loss of his dad due to heart failure. The work that the BHF does hits home for me because they have made remarkable progress in reducing deaths from heart and circulatory diseases in the UK. Yet, it's devastating to know that every day, hundreds still lose their lives to these conditions.

This is where we come in! With our support, the BHF can continue its essential work in developing new treatments and finding cures. I'm aiming to raise £500 for this important research. Just think about it: a donation of £24 could fund two hours of research by an early career scientist! But remember, every pound counts—so please give what you can to help me reach my target. Together, we can make a difference! Thank you so much for your support!
