BHP Big Fundraising Walk 2023 · 6 October 2023

Every day in the UK, another 240 people wake up to the catastrophic impact of a stroke. The Stroke Association is the leading charity in the UK providing lifelong support for all stroke survivors and their families.

Story

A month ago I didn’t know anybody who had had a stroke. Now two people close to me have suffered from them.

When stroke strikes, part of your brain shuts down. And so does a part of you. Life changes instantly and recovery is tough. But the brain can adapt. Specialist support, research and campaigning are only possible with the courage and determination of the stroke community. With more donations and support, lives can be rebuilt.

Along with my colleagues, I am taking part in BHP’s Big Charity Challenge 2023 - a 30 kilometre fundraising walk around Ladybower and Howden Reservoirs in Derbyshire, taking place on Friday 6th October
