Story
For over 25 years, My Mum Jess has been living with Multiple Sclerosis (MS), a lifelong condition that affects the brain and nervous system. Throughout those years, she has faced countless challenges with courage, determination and resilience. While MS has become a part of her life, it has never defined who she is.
What makes her story even more remarkable is that she raised three children while living with MS, often shouldering family responsibilities while my dad was serving in the military on dangerous operations overseas. During long periods of separation and uncertainty, Mum continued to be the strong, steady presence our family relied upon. She managed the daily challenges of motherhood while battling the unpredictable effects of MS, always putting her family first and never allowing us to feel anything less than loved and supported.
As her son, I have witnessed first-hand the physical and emotional challenges that MS can bring. I have also seen the incredible strength, positivity and perseverance that Mum has shown every single day. She has taught me that true courage is not about never facing difficulties. It is about continuing to move forward despite them.
That is why I have decided to take on this running challenge and raise money for the MS Trust.
The MS Trust provides vital support, information and guidance to people living with MS across the UK. Their work helps individuals and families navigate life with the condition, offering practical advice, specialist support and hope when it is needed most.
This challenge is my way of giving something back. It is a tribute to my mum, to everything she has overcome, and to the countless others living with MS who face their own battles every day.
If you are able to support me, no matter how big or small the donation, I would be incredibly grateful. Your contribution will help the MS Trust continue its invaluable work supporting those affected by MS and their families.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story and for supporting such an important cause.
For Mum. For everyone living with MS. Every step counts.
Sam ❤️
