Sam's fundraiser for Alder Hey Children's Charity

Sam May is raising money for Alder Hey Children's Charity

Vietnam to Cambodia - Alder Hey · 7 November 2026 to 17 November 2026 · Start fundraising for this event

This breathtaking charity bike ride is one of the best in the world and will take us from Vietnam’s Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) to the ancient temples of Angkor Wat in Cambodia.

Story

In November 2026, I’ll be cycling 391km from Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, to Angkor Wat, Cambodia in support of Alder Hey Children's Charity. I've never really cycled further than down to the shops, so it's going to be quite the challenge.

I'll be undertaking a few other challenges in between now and then, with all funds raised going to Alder Hey Children's Charity. Currently these include (with more to be added)...

🦘 100 Skips a Day (June 2025)

👟 Tissington Trail Half Marathon (September 2025)

🏃‍♂️ Liverpool Half Marathon (March 2026)

🏃‍♂️‍➡️ Manchester Marathon (April 2026)

Having worked at Alder Hey Children's Charity for nearly two years now, I'm privileged to see the life-changing impact charitable funding has on the 450,000 brave children and young people, and their families, that are cared for at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital every year.

Support from incredible donors helps Alder Hey Children's Charity to fund:

💓 Life Saving Equipment

Supporting Alder Hey Children's Hospital to purchase lifesaving equipment, advanced technologies and distraction innovations to help Alder Hey clinicians do the very best for patients.

🪄 Moments of Magic

Giving children the opportunity to play and be creative, even when they are poorly, our 'Alder Hey Magic' makes hospital life brighter for brave young patients.

💡 Research & Innovation

Funding areas of research excellence, including childhood cancer, inflammatory diseases and respiratory health. Donations support patients at Alder Hey but also help to make the future brighter for children around the world through our vital research.

🏨 Campus and Community

Together supporters have supported the build of unique facilities devoted to community and mental health services, research facilities and a brand new home for our specialist bereavement centre. We’re also building a state-of-the-art surgical neonatal intensive care unit—the first of its kind in the UK.

Thank you taking the time to view my page. Any donations to help the brave young patients at Alder Hey would be greatly appreciated! 🐘💙
