Story
This April I will be taking on the Manchester Marathon, to honour my dad who we tragically lost to a pulmonary embolism caused by DVT. What happened to him was preventable and that's why raising awareness matters so much to me.
2024 was one of the hardest years of my life. I finished my first year at uni while grieving my dad, and then suffered a knee injury playing rugby that needed major surgery.
So I'm running this marathon to honour him, to make him proud, and to raise funds for Thrombosis UK and raise awareness for DVT. If sharing my dad's story helps even one person recognise (all) the signs of DVT, or starts a conversation that saves a life, then it's worth every mile.
If you're able to donate, no matter how small, it would mean the world to me. And if you can't donate, a share or a kind word of support goes a long way too.
Thank you so much for your support. Sam
