Story
Swimming for Charlotte — Supporting Thames Hospice

This year, I’m taking part in a sponsored swim in memory of my beautiful friend Charlotte, who spent the final eight weeks of her life at Thames Hospice. It’s hard to put into words what those weeks meant — to her, to her family, and to all of us who loved her. What I do know is that the care she received wasn’t just medical; it was human, gentle, dignified, and full of compassion. Everyone involved were AMAZING!
Thames Hospice held her — and us — through the hardest moments with kindness that never wavered. They created calm where there was fear, comfort where there was pain, and space for love and laughter even in the most difficult days. I will always be grateful for that.
So this swim is for Charlotte.
For her strength, her humour, her stubbornness, her warmth, her beautiful smile.
For the memories she left with us.
And for the hospice that made sure she was surrounded by care, dignity, and love right to the end.
Every donation, no matter the size, helps Thames Hospice continue to support families going through the unthinkable. If you’re able to contribute, thank you — it means more than you know.
