Campaign by Diabetes UK (RCN 215199)
The greatest marathon in the world. For the last 85 years, Diabetes UK has been at the forefront of diabetes research. We've discovered how to put type 2 diabetes into remission and were working day in, day out to find a cure.

Story

Welcome to my London Marathon 2024 profile page.

At the start of 2023, my dad asked me if I wanted to run in next years marathon and of course I jumped at the opportunity. Not only did I love the idea of doing this with my dad (who will be 64 when running… not bad) but more importantly, it was an opportunity to raise money for a cause that is very close to our hearts.

We chose to raise funds for Diabetes UK because my sister was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes when she was 8 years old. That was 23 years ago, and I have watched her learn to live with this often-complex disease. Throughout that period there have been many advancements which my sister has benefited from such as the improvement of the equipment and technology or the creation of better support services. However, those advancements are only made possible through donations and campaigns such as this one.

We have set a target amount of £4,200 for this campaign. Every pound brings us closer to our goal and makes a real impact on the 4.9 million people living with diabetes in the UK. Your donation will fund vital research projects, provide support services, and help raise awareness about this chronic condition.

So join me (and my dad) in this journey by hitting the donate button on my profile page today. Thankyou!
