Story

Yikes, somehow I have agreed to walk down a very large building! It is the KPMG office in Canary Wharf and it really is a very large building, I have SEEN IT. I clearly wouldn't do this if there wasn't a very good reason...

How we treat dying people is a key marker of a civilised society, but far too many spend the end of their life in avoidable pain, in poverty or alone because they are unable to get the care and support they need.

Marie Curie want to change this - to ensure that everyone receives the best possible end of life experience, reflecting the things that matter most to them.

We do this by providing direct care for tens of thousands of dying people each year - bringing 75 years of experience and cutting edge research to the care we provide for people at home, in our hospices and over the phone. And we push for a better end of life for all by campaigning and sharing research to change the system.

It shouldn't need people having to bake cakes, run marathons, or walk down buildings to enable more people to get the care and support they need at the end of life, but as it does I guess I will!
