Story
I’m running the Venice Marathon on the 26th October to raise funds for Mind, because the reality is stark: suicide is the leading cause of death for men under 50 in the UK and for women under 35 in the UK and three out of four suicides are by men. Every week, countless men struggle in silence, feeling like we have nowhere to turn. The last year has been the most challenging of my life, but it’s shown me the power of a simple conversation - whether it’s opening up to a mate over a beer or lending an ear when someone needs it. Mind is working tirelessly to change this by providing vital mental health support, campaigning to break down stigma and making sure no one faces a mental health problem alone.
I’m also running to bring light to Rete Athletes Club, @retesport, which is striving to become a supporting space for athletes and limitless dreamers alike - a community built on respect, connection and resilience.
By donating, you’re not just supporting me over 26.2 miles; you’re helping fund life-saving services, push for change, and remind men everywhere that it’s okay to talk.
