Story
Nobody should ever go to work and not come home.
Sadly as we know, some police officers do just that. They pay the ultimate sacrifice.
Over the years I have been Family Liaison Officer for PC Jon Henry, PS Reece Buckenham, PC Bruce Lister and very very recently PC Alice Slominska 💙
I am and have been honoured to ride in memory of those officers and immensely proud of those who cycle for the very same reason.
All members of the police family feel the loss of colleagues and it is really important that we support those that they leave behind. This ride is for all officers that have died. Charities, such as COPS are really important at providing care and support to the officer's wider family and so I am delighted to be cycling with a team to raise money for this wonderful cause.
I know money is tight for everyone, but genuinely every £ makes a difference.
The cycle ride will start at Cambs Police HQ, on Friday 7th August 2026 and finishes at the National Arboretum in Staffordshire on Sunday 9th August where a service will be held in memory of those colleagues who have died. We will be joined by the families and friends of fallen colleagues.
Thank you so much for your support and your kind donations in memory of all those officers who’ve paid the ultimate sacrifice and in support of their families and the COPS charity.
COPS provides peer support opportunities and access to counselling services to help surviving family members (‘survivors’) rebuild their shattered lives.
"Your loss is a part of who you are but COPS helps you realise that it doesn’t define you. We are all one big family."
Since its foundation in 2003, COPS has helped hundreds of police families devastated by the loss of a loved one who died on duty.
Thankyou for taking time to read this and thankyou for every donation. 💙
