Story
When I first met my wife, Meg, she told me about the heartbreaking loss of her cousin Liam to cancer when she was a teenager. Inspired by Liam’s own fundraising efforts, all of the family threw themselves into countless events to raise money and awareness to support young people affected by cancer.
After Liam died, his brother Callum was left to face unimaginable grief, but he quickly discovered there was no tailored support for people who had lost siblings like him. That’s why he founded Sibling Support, a charity dedicated to helping young people navigate life after the death of a brother or sister.
In 2022, Meg ran the Brighton Marathon to raise funds for Sibling Support, determined to ensure that no grieving sibling had to go through it alone. Now, three years later, it’s my turn. I’ve been lucky enough to be trusted with a place to run the London Marathon 2026 on behalf of this amazing charity, so please do give generously - if you can - to support young people in the UK facing the worst grief a young person could experience.
Every year, around 4,000 young people in the UK lose their lives and beside many of them is a sibling left to cope with loss, often in silence. Sibling Support works to change that. They offer compassionate, age-appropriate help to grieving siblings and the people around them, so they can find strength, healing, and even joy again.
Your donation, no matter the size, will directly help children and young people rebuild their lives after the devastation of losing a sibling.
Please support me on this journey. Together, we can make sure no sibling has to grieve alone.
