Hi everyone,

We’re Sam and Amy — a husband and wife team taking on the Great North Run 2025 together to raise money for Teesside Hospice.

Just over a year ago, Sam weighed over 34 stone and struggled to walk around the house. After a huge lifestyle change for both of us and losing over 18 stone between us, we’ve both decided to challenge ourselves by running 13.1 miles — something we never thought we’d be doing.

We’re also doing this to show our daughters that no matter where you start from, you always have the ability to turn your life around — and that helping others along the way is just as important.

Teesside Hospice provides care, support, and dignity to people with life-limiting illnesses and their families across our region. They rely on donations to continue their vital work, and every penny really does make a difference.
