Story
We are taking part in the Saxon Riding for Disabled ( RDA) Trustees challenge which is set around the number 24.
H will be walking and Scootering 24 miles throughout June to hit his target distance.
This is a massive thing for him for those of you who don't know H suffers from hypertonia, hypermobility and very low body tone. This makes physical activity extremely hard for him and he can become very tired from walking distances, although is always on the go π€£
H took his first unaided steps at 3 years old after being told he would likely never walk unaided and hasn't looked back.
H rides every Monday afternoon supported by the RDA team. He is supported by an instructor, a rein leader and two side walkers at all times.
It provides H with not only the much needed physical activity to increase his body tone and posture but also a great chance to work on his communication and skills such as listening and memory which he has to work extremely hard at.
RDA are a charity they receive no government funding and without your support the lessons can't take place. They cater for all children and adults with a range of disabilities and learning needs.
