Story
It is with the heaviest of hearts that I write this post to share the devastating news that our beautiful Millie passed away very suddenly on Monday 22nd December.
After many visits to the doctors for a number of concerns, I always knew in my heart that something wasn’t right. On Sunday, I took Millie to A&E, where blood tests were done. She was very quickly diagnosed with an aggressive form of Acute Myeloid Leukaemia and transferred to the RVI.
Everything happened so fast; Millie deteriorated rapidly, and on Monday she peacefully went to sleep after a brew, with her mammy by her side.
Millie was the most special little girl. She had the best personality and the brightest smile. She loved wearing tiaras, singing her heart out, learning everything she could about absolutely anything, and enjoying a good brew like a little grown-up. She brought so much happiness, laughter, and love to everyone who knew her, and her going to sleep forever leaves a space that can never be filled.
We are utterly broken, but we are so proud of Millie. She will forever be in our hearts, our thoughts, and everything we do (Buddy will be coming on all trips going forward so she is still part of everything we do). Thank you to everyone for the love, kindness, and support during this unimaginable time and please, remember Millie as the incredible little girl she is!

25th August should have been Millie's 10th birthday. Throughout August, we are inviting everyone to share a birthday message to her whilst supporting the Great North Children's Hospital.
No message is ever too small, and no donation is ever too little. Every word written for Millie and every pound donated in her memory means the world to her family. Your kindness keeps her birthday filled with love, and helps support the incredible team at the Great North Children’s Hospital who cared for her with such compassion. Thank you for thinking of Millie and for helping us honour her 10th birthday in the most beautiful way.
