Sam and Emma's Big Shave for The Royal British Legion

Head shave · 10 August 2024
Following Emma's mum and Sam's husband falling ill, we were inspired to raise awareness for the incredible charities that offer help and support. We pondered over what we could do that was unique and challenging. Then it struck us... why not shave our heads!
If you visit Emma's page, you will read her personal reasons for choosing the Lewis Foundation. Which is just the most amazing small charity that has a huge impact. But I wanted to share with you why I have chosen the RBL.
I have worked for the RBL for over 12 years. Firstly as a Case Officer and most recently as a Casework Services Manager for Devon and Cornwall. My connection to this cause runs deep, stemming from my marriage to a dedicated Royal Marine whose service took a toll on his health. Over the years, I've witnessed first hand the incredible impact of The Royal British Legion's work, from providing essential support to ensuring that the sacrifices of our servicemen are never forgotten
Not only is the RBL a wonderful place to work, full of super wonderful people, they have also supported me and Steve throughout his illness. Giving me the time and space to look after Steve and also the specialist support when we needed it.
Join me in this endeavour by contributing what you can - whether it's the equivalent of a cup of coffee or more - every donation makes a meaningful impact. Your support will not only help reach our fundraising target of £500 but will also serve as a powerful symbol of solidarity and appreciation for our veterans and their families. Thank you for taking the time to visit my fundraising page and for considering this important cause.
