BOB is running 26.2 miles for the 'Freedom of Home Dialysis' for Southend Hospital

Working to support Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust, our aim is to improve the hospital environment, fund ground breaking research, support the development,training and wellbeing of hospital staff and provide state-of-the-art equipment, across Basildon, Broomfield & Southend hospitals.

Story

On April 19th Anthony Smith known as "Bob", a Postal Porter for Facilities at SUH, will be running the Manchester Marathon on behalf of The North Thames Side Ladies Auxiliary to raise vital funds for The Home Therapies Team, to support the advancement of the new patient suite.

Bob says "I am raising funds to ensure more patients have access to equipment, training and emotional support needed to dialyse at home. I want to help turn a life-restricting diagnosis into a life-empowering reality!! With the support of the North Thames Side Auxiliary behind me, I am ready for the challenge!"
