Story
On 9th September 2024, we tragically lost our beloved friend Steve. To everyone who knew him he was a kind and gentle soul. He was committed to helping others and did a lot for charitable causes to help others.
Since Steve’s passing, Sara and the kids have been supported by their wonderful family and friends. However, we are aware that not everyone is lucky enough to have the fantastic support network that they have had.
Steve loved open water swimming, therefore, in honour of Steve’s memory, along with marking the one year anniversary and in tribute to his dedication to helping others, this year I’ve set myself the challenge to join the SwimSerpentine 2mile event on the 20th September to raise both awareness and funds to support the incredible work carried out by CALM. Below is an outline of the much needed support that CALM provides.
We’re Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM), and we’re a suicide prevention charity. We’ve got loads of tools and resources to help people find the support they need, including a life-saving helpline for people who can’t see a way forward, have lost someone to suicide, or are worried about their friends or loved ones.
£12.20 is enough to fund one potentially life-saving call.
By creating this page and holding these events, we hope to honour Steve’s memory and work towards supporting those who feel they are unable to speak out.
