Story
On 30 May 2027, I will be taking on the Edinburgh Marathon to raise money for Braid House Day Centre, a charity that provides invaluable support to people aged 50 and over with complex care needs, including dementia, Parkinson's disease, and other age-related conditions.
Braid House plays a vital role in our community by helping people remain active, connected, and supported. They provide companionship, social activities, nutritious meals and refreshments, assistance with personal care, and tailored support through individual care plans designed around each person's needs and goals. Their services promote independence, wellbeing, social interaction, and meaningful engagement, while also offering essential respite and support to families and carers.
Many of the people who attend Braid House face challenges such as loneliness, anxiety, depression, or declining health. The dedicated team works closely with clients, their families, and healthcare professionals to ensure everyone receives the care, dignity, and support they deserve.
By supporting my Edinburgh Marathon challenge, you'll be helping Braid House continue to provide these life-changing services to some of the most vulnerable members of our community.
Any donation, no matter the size, will be greatly appreciated and will help make a real difference. Thank you for your support and encouragement as I take on this challenge.
You could also add a personal sentence at the start if you work, volunteer, or have a connection to Braid House, as personal stories often encourage more donations.
