Running in memory of Lisa...
Every few years I try to complete a big challenge for charity...This year, on Saturday 18th April, I'm aiming to complete a 75km run - that's very close to 50 miles! My biggest run ever... 😳
The run starts at Wembury on the South Coast of Devon, carries on to Ivybridge and then across Dartmoor to Chagford. It includes the massive hill from Widecombe to Hammeldown Tor, which I've been using for my training...
Apart from brief pauses at timed checkpoints, I'll essentially be running non-stop for the whole 75K... 😵💫
I've chosen to run in support of St Lukes Hospice and in memory of my good friend and neighbour, Lisa, who sadly died from cancer a year ago. St Lukes was able to provide a "Hospice at Home" service for Lisa and they were brilliant!
The photo shows Lisa and I, four years ago, on South West RIB Rides RIB appropriately named, "Go Ballistic", which runs out of Brixham. We had a fantastic day - an adrenaline filled RIB ride followed by a brilliant picnic - supplied by Lisa.
She really was full of life and a wonderful friend!
St Lukes need all the support they can get to provide their services for as many people as possible...
If you feel you can support my run, and the hospice, I appreciate anything you can do...
Best wishes,
Sam
