This is is not your average half marathon - from cultural landmarks to the city's quirky hidden secrets, you will get to explore the capital on a route like no other!

Story

On 12 April, I will be taking on the challenge of running the London Landmarks Half Marathon for a special cause. As many of you know, my Dad was diagnosed with dementia a couple of years ago, and I am raising money for the Alzheimer's Society to help fund vital services and ground-breaking research into the disease, for people and families living with dementia, and those who will sadly be diagnosed with it in their lifetimes.

Watching someone live with and affected by dementia is incredibly difficult, but I am hopeful that through raising funds for fantastic charities, such as the Alzheimer's Society, we will one day be able to treat and cure this awful disease. Alongside funding vital research for a cure, the Alzheimer's Society also provides vital support services to individuals who have been diagnosed with dementia (and their families), such as through their expert dementia advisers, companionship calls/services and support groups, and practical advice

The Alzheimer's Society is the UK’s leading dementia and research charity. It provides essential funding for dementia research, support services, and campaigning for change.

Any support that you can give will provide much-needed support and services to thousands of people living with dementia today, and help fund vital research to find a cure for the future.

Funds raised will go towards the following vital services and research:

Support Services: Funding provides practical advice, emotional support, and community for thousands of families dealing with dementia, including support lines and local advisors.

Research Investment: Money raised allows for significant investment in groundbreaking research to improve diagnosis, treatment, and care, with over £15 million invested in 2023/24.

Campaigning: Funds help drive awareness campaigns to influence change and ensure dementia is a priority among policymakers.

Community Support: Donations enable local support, such as peer support sessions and specialised dementia advisors

Thank you so much in advance for donating whatever you can, it really will make a massive difference.
