Story
We are raising money for my fathers choosen charity that was very personal to him.
Sadly my father was diagnosed with a CML, a rare form of Leukemia back in 2021. Chronic myelogenous leukemia, also known as chronic myeloid leukemia, is a cancer of the white blood cells. It is a form of leukemia characterized by the increased and unregulated growth of myeloid cells in the bone marrow and the accumulation of these cells in the blood.
Unfortunately my father was not eligible for chemotherapy, but my father fought and fought for 3 years. Sadly my father passed away on Tuesday 24th September 2024, at home with his family.
The reason my father chose this charity was beacause, they were there for him right from the start. My father would visit the “Wellbeing Clinic” for blood transfusions when needed and blood tests to keep an eye on things. He enjoyed visiting the clinic as they were all so kind to him, and very supportive. Not only did they support my father, but the team supported his family though a very difficult time. The team were with us every step of the way, their care was so supportive.
My fathers was a true “Hatter” (Luton Town Supporter). He had supported the club for 70 Years, and their was not many games he had missed. He helped out on the away games on the “Bobbers Travel Coach” where he would collect food and drink for the away fans, something he enjoyed doing. For many years he held a dimond season ticket, and i would share many games at home with him. He loved that his daughter had an interest in the club and enjoyed digging out his spare shirt, hat and scarf ready for the home matches. In memory of my father, we plain to put a plaque on his old seat to remember him by. Unfortunately he was unable to go to the premier league games, but i am grateful we were able to watch the team from the comfort of our sofa
Alway from the football, my father was a real family man. He would spend many weeks away with my mother in their VW Camper touring england, something he enjoyed. Not only did he enjoy touring the country he enjoyed spending time up my stables. My father was very horsey, after learning to ride many years ago with my mother. I think that is where I developed the love of ”Horses”. My father worked so hard to give me my dream of owning my own stables, by bulding my own for me. I will forever be greatful for the love and support from my father gave me.
Please feel free to make a small donation, no matter how small in memory of my father. Your donation will help support many other families in need of support.
