Story

I’m reaching out to you today with a cause that is incredibly close to my heart. I am running the London Marathon raising funds for Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital, a place that has played a life changing role in my family’s life.

When my brother was born, he was diagnosed with FG Syndrome, a rare genetic condition that affects many aspects of a child’s development and health. His condition was serious, and immediately after birth, he was admitted to Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital, where he spent the first few months of his life fighting to survive. Doctors predicted Jack would never be able to walk and would have to use a wheelchair for the rest of his life.

Throughout those early months—and in the years since—he has been in and out of hospital care more times than I can count. Each time, the incredible team at Royal Manchester has been there for him: offering not just expert medical treatment, but also compassion, hope, and unwavering support for our entire family.

This hospital doesn’t just treat children; it gives families a lifeline during their darkest moments. It provides cutting-edge care, research, and facilities that help save and improve young lives every single day. I can say with all my heart: without Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital, my brother would not be here today.

That’s why I’ve chosen to support them—and I need your help.

Whether you can donate £5, £50, or simply share my fundraising page, every bit of support makes a real difference. The funds raised will help provide vital equipment, research, and services that children like my brother rely on.

Your generosity could help save a life—just like it helped save my brothers.

Thank you for the support,

Sam
