I’m thrilled to be given the opportunity to run the London Marathon 2024 in aid of We Are All Making A Difference (WAAMAD). After numerous failed attempts in the ballot and then running my first proper marathon in Manchester last year, I promised myself (and Jessica) that it was a one off… but London is an exception and gives me a chance to fulfil a lifelong goal. I can’t wait to experience the amazing atmosphere that I have heard so much about and watched on TV since I was a kid; I just hope I can still appreciate it amongst the world of pain I will be in around mile 20!

Yet, any suffering I endure during training or the race pales in comparison to the daily hardships faced by less fortunate individuals and their families. That's why it is truly rewarding to raise funds for WAAMAD. What sets this charity apart is that every penny raised goes directly to its beneficiaries without any deductions for administrative or other overhead costs. WAAMAD supports individuals and organizations who lack the means to raise funds themselves, making a significant impact on their lives.

Donations received have previously supported a wide range of incredible causes. From granting children with life-threatening illnesses and their families trips to Disneyland Florida, to providing specialized therapy for children with Cerebral Palsy, and even establishing music therapy programs for elderly groups suffering from dementia. Every pound donated will not only motivate me towards the finish line but also make a tangible difference for this worthy cause.
