Story

This isn’t just another fundraising effort. This is deeply personal. This is for the charity that gave me more time with my dad. And that’s something you can’t put a price on. I’m running the London Marathon 2026 for Barts Charity and this one means everything.

Barts Charity will always hold a special place in my heart. Thanks to the extraordinary care provided by Barts Health, I was lucky enough to have six more precious years with my dad after he was diagnosed with stage IV kidney cancer. Those extra years meant the world to us Carpaninis and I’ll be forever grateful to the team that made them possible.

I last ran the London Marathon in 2018. It was the hottest year on record, and despite all my hard training, I didn’t finish in the time I’d hoped for. I told myself that was my first and last marathon. But here I am, years later, more determined than ever, ready to take it on with even more purpose.

Everyone who knows me knows how much LM2018 meant and how tough it was to come up short. But I finished that race because of my dad. Now I’m ready to turn that disappointment into something powerful.

My dad went through hell and never once let it break him. He stayed strong, faced every challenge and beat the odds. He showed me what true resilience looks like. I’m running this marathon to honour that incredible strength and to carry him with me every step of the way.

I miss him so much and I’m going to miss hearing him cheer me on from the sidelines even more but I know he’d be proud, just like he was when myself, Danny, Matty and Jessie ran the London Landmarks Half together in 2024. This time it’s twice the distance and it means even more doing it in his honour.

I’m also doing this for my two little girls. I want them to see their mummy pushing boundaries, fighting for what matters and giving back to the people who gave us so much. I want them to be proud of me, just like I’m proud to be my dad’s daughter.

Thank you, from the very bottom of my heart for being part of this journey with me and Carpos. This one’s for you Daddy 💙
