Story

As some of you will know we lost our very special Dad in July 2022. Since that day our lives have never been the same. Grief is a very difficult journey 💔 This year my sister would like to run the London Marathon in Dads memory!

Here’s a bit from her….

Ever since I took up running my Dad would always support me. He was always there at the finish line with one of his handmade banners cheering me on. Proud of every race I did but also hoping I didn’t beat his marathon time 😉 (I was way off, it was safe). He did the same for our Mum when she ran a half marathon for her 50th birthday, banner and all!

During Dads diagnosis with cancer, MacMillian provided the most heartfelt support. They gave advice, they gave compassion and they gave us so much confidence in how we approached what was ahead. As soon as I was lucky enough to get a place in the marathon I knew exactly who I would like to raise money for and I know my Dad would have felt the same. It’s very fitting that MacMillian is represented by the colour green because that too was my Dads favourite colour.

I haven’t set a target to reach because any amount donated would be very much appreciated but what I will say is where that money goes is worth every single penny 💚

Sadly at the beginning of the year we also lost our beautiful fur baby Alfie. He sadly was taken from us because of cancer and this run is for him too 🐾

So on Sunday 21st April I will be taking to the streets of London to complete 26.2 miles in memory of our Dad and Alfie. It will be a big F**k you to cancer for ripping our hearts apart. I will have a green foil heart attached to my vest with both their names on 💚🐾

So please if you knew my Dad then please donate anything you can in his memory. He was the most kindest and generous man. Let’s show him some love back 🥰

Thanks for supporting my fundraising. Macmillan gives people with cancer everything they’ve got. If you’re diagnosed, your worries are Macmillan’s worries. Macmillan’s doing whatever it takes. But without your help, Macmillan can’t support everyone who needs them.
