Brighton Half Marathon 2025 · 2 March 2025 ·

We offer peer support for parents and carers whose children are struggling with their mental health. A safe, non judgemental, confidential space for them to come together; to be supported, chat and know that they are not alone. We run support sessions and a number of programmes empowering parents

Story

Many of you probably know me as the ((BOUNCE)) girl. Hi 👋🏼

((BOUNCE)) is pretty much the one thing that motivates me to move.

Running, or going to the gym is hard work.

But stepping onto that trampoline is an instant mood boost.

As someone with anxiety and PTSD, ((BOUNCE)) has become a sacred space for my mental health. Hearing my attendees share similar experiences inspires me to support other people’s mental health in any way I can.

That’s why I started volunteering with Holding Space, a local charity helping parents and carers through tough times.

What I soon realised is that parents and carers are often forgotten about when it comes to mental health support.

When you become a parent, the focus shifts to the child - for so many valid reasons. But what support is out there when it comes to tackling the hardships of parenting?

In reality, there’s not much.

But on the high street of Eastbourne, there’s Holding Space.

On my first shift, I saw the difference they make - giving real support to parents through lived experience.

Now, to further my mission, I’m stepping out of my comfort zone by signing up for the Brighton Half Marathon in March 2025. The idea of running down the cold, rainy, windy Brighton seafront with no trampoline in sight makes me ill 🫠, but I’m determined to finish for Holding Space.

So, if you’re a parent, a carer, a mental health advocate, or just keen to support a great cause, please consider donating to my fundraising page.

Or maybe you just want to see me do my best impression of a drowned rat - either way, I’d love your support!

Time to start training…someone please keep me accountable 😆
