Story
I have chosen to run the Run Leicester 10k, supporting Brain Tumour Research as I was affected by a Brain Tumour at the age of 11. This has caused many complications in my life, ranging from losing the ability to walk, to eye sight problems, constant MRI Scans and Doctors Appointments - also with scars all over my head and stomach. I feel very strongly about this charity, having raised over £5000 for them in the past.
I proved to myself last year that I can run this race with no problems medically, so I have chosen to do it for charity this time round.
One in three people in the UK knows someone affected by a brain tumour. This disease is indiscriminate; it can affect anyone at any age. Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer yet just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this devastating disease since records began in 2002.
