Story
On April 26th 2026 I will be running the London Marathon for Brain Tumour Support charity. As many of you may know already, this charity has supported our family since 2014 when my husband Jamie Sunderland was diagnosed with a Glioblastoma brain tumour. Jamie underwent surgery and treatment over the next 4 years, where he sadly passed away at home in 2018.
Brain Tumour support was there to support us all as a family from the outset and helped us to steer through the traumatic times ahead. We were able to access their counselling service throughout difficult times and were supported to try and focus on enjoying time with our beautiful children Limonie and Archie. It is no exaggeration to say that this would have not been possible without the kindness and guidance provided by the charity.
Brain Tumour support has continued to care for us since Jamie passed away and I have had the privilege of completing challenges to raise awareness and funds for this amazing charity.
However, this is the big one! I enjoy running but this is going to be a huge personal challenge and I am genuinely honoured to be able to represent Brain Tumour Support. I will be starting training soon and will provide updates of runs where anyone can join if they wish 😊
I have the pleasure of running the London Marathon with my beautiful friend Colette. Her brother Andy has also been supporting the charity since being diagnosed with a brain tumour. We are hoping to raise a fantastic amount so that other families can continue to be lovingly supported through similar situations.
I am aiming to raise at least £2500 and so anything that you can donate will be hugely appreciated. £2500 could support 5 families to be supported by their specialist brain tumour counsellor, offering courses of individual and family therapy to support them in facing a brain tumour diagnosis and beyond. My motivation for this huge challenge is that other families, friends and carers affected by a brain tumour receive the same care and kindness that we have experienced by this amazing charity.
Thank you so very much for your support 🩵
