Story
Leeds Hockey Club is the largest hockey club in Yorkshire and a registered charity, supporting over 475 members aged 8 to 76, and run by over 30 dedicated volunteers.
With the cost of running a season continually rising—pitch hire, league fees, equipment, and coaching—the club relies heavily on fundraising to remain both competitive and inclusive.
We’re passionate about keeping hockey accessible, because so many people benefit from the physical, social, and mental health aspects of being part of a club like this.
Fundraising helps us subsidise costs for juniors, students, and members, ensuring hockey remains open to everyone in our community, but it also allows us to be competitive, providing some of the best coaching and entry into some of the top leagues in England.
The last thing we want to do is increase membership fees and risk pricing people out of the sport.
The club is also passionate about supporting mental health. 15% of everything we raise will go to Mind, helping to fund vital mental health services and support those who need it most.
The club brings people together from all walks of life, creating friendships that last far beyond the pitch. It’s a place to stay active, support your mental wellbeing, and be part of something bigger—whether that’s through competition, social events, or simply being around a great group of people.
