With a new blood cancer diagnosis every 27 seconds worldwide, Cure Leukaemia funds research nurses at UK blood cancer centres, giving patients access to treatments through clinical trials. This support drives global significant advancements in blood cancer, impacting those affected by the disease.

Story

This year, we are running the Birmingham Half Marathon to support Cure Leukaemia. My partners mum was diagnosed with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukaemia (CLL) and, thanks to the incredible treatments and research she’s doing well today but is still undergoing treatment.

We are taking on this challenge to help raise funds for the research that made her treatment possible and to ensure others with blood cancers get the same chance.

Cure Leukaemia helps blood cancer patients to access pioneering drug and transplant treatments by funding a network of specialist research nurses across the UK. Without these nurses, to ensure patients are monitored and cared for, clinical trials of these new treatments would not run and patients, that have exhausted standard treatment options, would miss out on potentially lifesaving therapies. Every penny raised for Cure Leukaemia helps save lives and also hastens global progress towards the eradication of all forms of blood cancer.
