Story

Hi my name is Ian Lewis, I am the branch manager of the Nationwide branch in Bangor. I really want to support Alder Hey due to the care that my Nephew got during his many months there over the last 4 years.

My Nephew, Mabon Gwyn Lewis was born 30th July 2019 and was born with rare condition known as Congenitally Corrected Transposition of the Greater Arteries (CCTGA) which meant that the hearts ventricles were on the wrong side.

During his short life he spent over a quarter of it in the care of Alder Hey for three heart corrective surgeries. He fought so hard during the last stint there but unfortunately he lost that fight on the 18th December 2023.

The care that he and his parents received was fantastic and they did all that they could. I would like to give a little back by raising awareness and funds to support so they can continue the fantastic work they do.

I have a few pictures here of Mabon during his stay in Alder Hey, during healthier times and with his father (My brother)
