Story
Growing up in Guyana, South America, wildlife wasn't something I saw on a screen—it was my backyard. I lived among monkeys, exotic birds and snakes. But my most formative moments were at the local zoos and aquariums, where I stood face-to-face with the world’s most magnificent creatures. Those early encounters sparked a lifelong gratitude for the animal kingdom, but they also opened my eyes to a heavy responsibility.
On April 26, 2026, I am running the London Marathon to turn that gratitude into action. I won’t have my name on my tee-shirt. Instead, I’m wearing "In Support of Wild Welfare" across my chest. I am running for the lions, elephants, and primates who cannot run for themselves—those living in captivity who deserve more than just survival. They deserve a life worth living.
Wild Welfare works tirelessly to transform the lives of animals in captive care through education, advocacy, and collaborative partnerships. We owe it to these animals to ensure their welfare is a priority, not an afterthought.

Every mile I run is a stride toward better care, and every dollar you donate funds life-changing welfare interventions. Please join me in this mission. Let’s ensure that the wildlife we marvel at today receives the dignity and care they deserve tomorrow.
Thank you - Sam
