Story
Hi,
My name is Sam, I am a student nurse at Nottingham Trent University. I have set up this JustGiving page to raise money for John Eastwood Hospice in Sutton-in-Ashfield.
Back in January 2025, I was privileged to undertake a clinical placement here at John Eastwood Hospice. I witnessed first-hand the extraordinary care, compassion, and dignity provided to patients and their loved ones during some of the most challenging times of their lives.
John Eastwood Hospice provides specialist palliative care, supporting people with life-limiting illnesses with a holistic approach in an environment filled with warmth, respect, and hope. The staff and volunteers at John Eastwood go above and beyond. Their work truly makes a difference to the people within our community - which is why I would like to be able to give something back. That's why I am doing a charity skydive from 15,000ft on 27/07/2026 to raise much needed funds to support the hospice's incredible services. Every donation helps ensure this vital care continues for those who need it most.
John Eastwood is charity funded with money raised going towards;
- The on-going provision of additional resources and higher-level services not provided by the NHS
- The development and improvement of the facilities at the hospice.
- Maintenance of the building and gardens
- Insurance for the building and contents, public and employer’s liability
- Purchase of furniture and fittings including office equipment and some medical equipment
- Transport costs for the Living Well Centre (day hospice) patients and running and maintenance of the minibus
- Resources for patient activities and therapies
To ensure all the money raised goes to John Eastwood Hospice, I will be covering the cost of the skydive myself. Thank you for supporting my cause, and thank you for your donations no matter how big or small. There will be photos of the skydive on the day!
