Better Lives Partnership is an SCIO established in 2016 to support young people with autism and other additional barriers by providing a range of opportunities for them to enable them to live independent and fulfilling lives within their communities. Our core activity is our Bridge to Employment Programme which aims to prepare our young people aged 16-25 with the skills and confidence needed to go on to college, work or volunteering. We focus on Employability; Enterprise and the Community; Independent Living and Social, Mental Health & Wellbeing. The materials and qualifications we deliver are ASDAN (Award Scheme Development and Accreditation Network) which are specially designed for learners with special educational needs.

Story

Sandhead 10 is a ten mile multi terrain race staring in Sandhead on the stunning Luce Bay, then following along the Mull of Galloway Trail into Stranraer, finishing with beautiful views across Loch Ryan.

On Sunday 14th Sept over 100 runners will take part in running the Sandhead 10 in memory of Tony Cooke, who tragically suffered a cardiac arrest while out on a run and sadly passed away. This year, Acorn Trails are dedicating the Sandhead10 in Tony's memory. He was a big fan of the route and a proponent of the event, encouraging his friends and local runners to take part.

The event will raise money for Better Lives Partnership Stranraer, a charity chosen by Tony's widow Karon.

Better Lives Partnership is a registered charity in Dumfries and Galloway that supports autistic young adults and those with additional support needs. It is their mission to enable autistic people to lead healthy, happy and fulfilling lives by using a person centered approach to develop unique opportunities that incorporate, employability, skills, work experience and enterprise which may result in the young person gaining employment, further training or a volunteer opportunity.

Thank you for your support.
