As many of you know, in late 2025 our 8 year old son was suddenly hospitalised with a rare condition. Those weeks were some of the longest of our lives. We were held up by incredible friends, family, and a handful of remarkable organisations that seemed to appear just when we needed them most.

Sitting by his bedside, watching monitors glow through the night, I kept thinking about the families who don’t have that support—the ones who face the same fear and uncertainty but with far fewer hands to steady them. Its a thought that stays with you long after you leave the hospital.

Now that we’re finally on the other side of that chapter, I’ve been profoundly inspired by my children—their strength, their courage, the way they simply kept going. And it’s made me want to do something meaningful for other children navigating challenges of their own.

So I’ve signed up to run the 2026 London Marathon in support of Whizz Kidz, a brilliant charity that gives young wheelchair users the equipment, skills and confidence to move forward and claim more of the world. They change lives in ways you can see, feel, and measure.
