Jackson's fundraiser for The Bumblebee Children's Charity

Michael King is raising money for The Bumblebee Children's Charity

Jackson Sandlings Charity walk · 5 June 2026

The Bumblebee Children’s Charity is a specialist centre working together with families to support babies and young children with physical difficulties taking part in a fun filled sensory programme. Families do not pay for this service. The Bumblebee Children’s Charity incorporates all aspects of the child’s development (physical, cognitive, social and emotional) into its programme. Every child has different needs, so the programme is designed around the individual child and related to his or her age and abilities. The staff team are always there to guide and support. Parents/primary carers work with their child, usually as part of a group, using equipment, toys and songs to make the tasks enjoyable and productive. It is important that the parent and child are involved together in the learning process and all skills learned are closely related to those which serve a purpose at home.

Story

Employees from Jackson Civil Engineering are undertaking the challenging Sandlings walk along the Suffolk coastline on 5th/6th of June 2026 to raise funds for The Bumblebee Children's Charity, based in Ipswich.

The Sandlings walk is a 60 mile (96.5km) route starting in Southwold and winding its way through Dunwich, Sizewell, Snape, Woodbridge, before concluding in the East side of Ipswich.

We will be aiming to complete this walk over the course of 2 days.

Our chosen charity, Bumblebee's, specialise in providing support to families with babies and/or children with physical difficulties.

We have set a target of £4,000 which would go a long way to helping the Charity.

As well as the walk, we have also planned various other events to help reach this target, including a raffle, various sporting competitions and sweepstakes. Details of these will be sent in due course.

We are also holding our 5-a-side Football Tournament at Goals again, after the success of last years competition. The Jackson team will aim to go one better than last year and win the main trophy!
