It’s time for a new challenge
Teigan and Sandra are taking on the Lakeland Trails 100k on 11th July in aid of CanRehab Trust.
CanRehab Trust is a small charity that helps anyone with a cancer diagnosis get more active no matter what their fitness level by providing individualised exercise support to people living with and beyond cancer in the UK. The charity works with all stages including stage 4 and metastases, helping to keep them active for as long as possible.
The challenge: The race starts in Ambleside in the Lake District at 00:01 on 11th July (i.e. midnight). We have been in training for 6 months, through hail storms, gale force winds, snow, rain and lots of very wet and muddy trainers. It’s not just 100k (62 miles), factor in 12,000 ft of ascent (that’s approximately 3 x Ben Nevis), a 23 hour time limit with strict cut off points throughout the course (if you don’t make it you get picked up) and finally having sleep deprivation before we even begin - we didn’t pick an easy one!!!
Neither of us knows how we will hold up but as someone once said ‘you only fail if you don’t try’ and we are going to try!
